The European Commission has established the WIFI4EU scheme to fund the cost of wireless infrastructure, to create free Wi-Fi hotspots in public spaces.
Discover the best solutions that meet Wifi4EU requirements, including options for indoor, outdoor and mixed deployments, as well as cloud-based and on-premises.
The WiFi4EU programme is now open to public sector bodies, including local authorities, public libraries and hospitals, in the EU, Norway and Iceland.
The application process is online - WiFi4EU Portal. Once approved, successful applicants will receive a voucher to cover the cost of hardware infrastructure and installation. This voucher will then be passed on to the chosen supplier, who is reimbursed by the EU.
The total programme budget is €120M, which will be released between now and 2020. Each successful applicant will receive a €15,000 voucher
