Application Awareness and More

The integrated Cisco Network Analysis Module (NAM) provides deep-packet inspection into network and application performance to improve service delivery.

A Single End-to-End Platform

The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series offers a comprehensive, one-platform solution for the data center core network. It also provides aggregation, high density, and end-of-row and top-of-rack server connectivity. For campus core deployments, it offers a scalable, highly resilient, high-performance solution.

The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series platform runs on Cisco NX-OS Software. It was specifically designed for the most mission-critical deployments in the data center and campus.

The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series was designed around three principles:

  • Infrastructure scalability: Virtualization, efficient power and cooling, high density, and performance all support efficient data center infrastructure growth.
  • Operational continuity: The Cisco Nexus design integrates hardware, NX-OS software features, and management to support zero-downtime environments.
  • Transport flexibility: You can incrementally and cost-effectively adopt new networking innovations and technologies.

New Innovations

Network Analysis Module (NAM)

The new integrated NAM brings application-awareness and comprehensive performance analytics to Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches. It delivers superior visibility into network and application performance to help you more effectively manage network operations and services delivery in the Unified Data Center.

High-performance services module that offers comprehensive application awareness, rich performance analytics.

Enhanced Copper and Fiber F2-Series Modules

The new Cisco Nexus 7000 enhanced F2-Series (F2e) modules help to enable full Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality. They also support Unified Fabric features such as Cisco FabricPath, FCoE, and IEEE 802.1az link encryption, and interoperability with M-Series modules in the same-Virtual Device Context (VDC).

Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Enhanced F2-Series 48-Port 1 and 10GBASE-T Ethernet Module (RJ45)

Enables the deployment of high-density, low-latency, scalable data center architectures based on the IEEE 802.3an standard, best known as 10GBASE-T.

Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Enhanced F2-Series 48-Port 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet Module (SFP or SFP+)

Offers outstanding flexibility and wire-rate performance on each port.

The new 4-slot Cisco Nexus 7000 chassis delivers up to 1.92 Tbps switching capacity in a compact 7 rack-unit (RU) form factor. This provides an ideal solution for small and midsize data center core and edge deployments.
