Configuring Chassis-Related Settings

Managing Server Power

Before you begin

You must be logged in as an admin to perform this procedure.

Procedure

From the Apps drop-down list, select Dashboard.

Step 3

From the Actions drop-down menu, select Power.

Step 4

Select a power option and perform the activities according to the following details:

Name

Description

Power Off

Allows you to power off the server. Click Power Off to proceed.

Power On

Allows you to power on the server.

Power Cycle

Allows you to perform an AC power cycle of the server. Click Power Cycle to proceed.

Hard Reset

Allows you to reset the server to factory settings. Click Hard Reset to proceed.

Shut Down

Allows you to gracefully shut down the server. Click Shut Down to proceed.


Pinging a Hostname/IP Address from the Web UI

Before you begin

You must be logged in as an admin to perform this procedure.

Procedure


Step 1

From the Apps drop-down list, select Dashboard.

Step 2

From the Actions drop-down menu, select System > Ping.

Step 3

In the Ping Details dialog box, perform the activities according to the details given in the table below.

Name

Description

Management IP Address field

Hostname or IP address you want to reach out to.

Number of Retries drop-down list

The maximum number of retries allowed to ping the IP address. The default value is 3. The valid range is from 1 to 10.

Timeout (in seconds) drop-down list

The maximum response time for a pinging activity. The default value is 10 seconds. The valid range is from 1 to 20 seconds.

Ping Status

Displays results of the pinging activity.

Details button

Displays details of the pinging activity.

Ping button

Performs the ping action of the IP address.

Step 4

Click Ping.


Toggling the Locator LEDs

Before you begin

You must be logged in as an admin to perform this procedure.

Procedure


Step 1

From the Apps drop-down list, select Dashboard.

Step 2

From the Actions drop-down menu, select System > Turn On/Off LED.

Step 3

Depending on your actions, the LED indicator in the Chassis Status area lights up and the physical locator LED on the server turns on or off and blinks.

If the Turn On LED is selected, the locator LED on the physical drive is turned on.

If the Turn Off LED is selected, the locator LED on the physical drive is turned off.


Selecting a Time Zone

Before you begin

You must log in with admin privileges to perform this task.

Procedure


Step 1

From the Apps drop-down list, select Dashboard.

Step 2

In the CIMC Information area, click the value under Timezone field.

Select Timezone screen appears.

Step 3

Select the required time zone from the Select Timezone drop-down list or mouse over the map and click on the location to select the time zone.

Step 4

Click Save.
