Overview of a UCS Chassis Profile
A UCS Chassis profile enables to create and associate chassis policy to an Intersight Managed Mode (IMM) claimed chassis. When a chassis profile is associated to a chassis, Cisco Intersight automatically configures the chassis to match the configuration specified in the policies of the chassis profile. The chassis-related policies can be attached to the profile either at the time of creation or later.

Chassis profile templates enable you to define a template from which chassis profiles can be easily derived and deployed at scale. This method is particularly useful when you need a large number of chassis profiles that use the same set of policies. Any property modification made in the template is inherited by the derived profiles. You can deploy these modified profiles individually. For more information, see Chassis Profile Templates.
To create a chassis profile template and derive profiles:
Log in to Cisco Intersight.
Choose Configure > Templates > UCS Chassis Profile Templates.
Click Create UCS Chassis Profile Template.
On the General page:
Choose an Organization for the template from the list. This field supports the capability of configuration sharing across Organizations.
Enter a name for the template.
Enter a tag for the template. Tags must be in the key:value format. For example, Org: IT or Site: APJ.
Enter a description to help identify the template.
Click Next.
On the Chassis Configuration page, create or select an IMC Access policy, Power policy, SNMP policy, and Thermal policy, and then click Next.
On the Summary page:
Review the details of the template and the policies attached to it.
If you opt to derive the profiles later, click Close. To derive the profiles from this template, click Derive Profiles.
To derive a template:
In the General page:
Under Chassis Assignment, assign the template to multiple chassis.
You can choose any of the following options for the chassis assignment:
Assign now—Use this option to immediately assign a chassis to the chassis profile.
Assign later—Use this option to assign a chassis to the chassis profile at a later time.
In the Number of Profiles to derive field, enter the number of profiles you want to derive.
On the Details page, you can view and edit the description, tag, and auto-generated names of the profiles, and then click Next.
On the Summary page, review the chassis profile template configuration, and then click Derive Profiles.
The table view displays the list of chassis templates and their details.
A Chassis Profile configures a chassis through reusable policies.

Log in to Cisco Intersight with your Cisco ID and select admin role. |

Navigate to Profiles > Chassis Profiles tab, and select Create UCS Chassis Profile. |

On the General page, select the organization and enter a name for your profile. Optionally, include a short description and tag information to help identify the profile. Tags must be in the key:value format. For example, Org: IT or Site: APJ. |

On the Chassis Assignment page, assign a chassis to the Chassis Profile. You can also click Assign Later and assign a chassis to the chassis profile later. |

Click Deploy to deploy the UCS Chassis Profile to the assigned Fabric Interconnect. |
On the UCS Chassis Profile Details page, you can:
Perform chassis profile Actions:
Deploy—Deploy the chassis profile on a Fabric Interconnect pair.
Edit—Edit the properties of the chassis profile.
Unassign Chassis—Unassign the chassis profile from the Fabric Interconnect pair.
View the UCS Chassis profile Details:
Status—The status of deploying the Chassis profile on a Fabric Interconnect pair, such as:
OK
Not Assigned
Not Deployed
Failed
Not Deployed Changes
Name—The chassis profile name.
Chassis—The chassis details.
Last Update—The date and time that the chassis profile was last updated.
Description—The description of the chassis profile.
Organization—The selected organization is displayed. Click default to set a default organization.
Tags—The existing tags for the selected object are displayed by default. Click Set to add new tags or modify the existing ones.
View the Policies that are attached to the chassis profile.
