Configuration Catalog

Cisco IOS XE Catalyst SD-WAN Release 17.15.1a

Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager Release 20.15.1

This feature provides a catalog of pre-defined configurations and policies. The Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Portal hosts the catalog service, which is managed by Cisco.

Cisco SD-WAN Manager connects to the cloud-hosted Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Portal to download catalog entries. You can modify the catalog entries before deploying them to devices in your network.

Information About the Configuration Catalog

The Configuration Catalog feature provides a validated set of configurations and policies that you can use for setting up the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN network.

Cisco SD-WAN Manager is connected to the catalog service hosted in the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Portal. You can enable the connectivity between the catalog portal and Cisco SD-WAN Manager using smart account credentials.

Restrictions for the Configuration Catalog

The catalog service supports only configuration groups, policy groups, and topology groups. There is no support for templates or legacy policies. Configuration groups installed from the Configuration Catalog are read-only.

Install a catalog entry

Before you begin

Enable Cloud Services from the Administration > Settings > Cloud Services page to enable the Configuration Catalog page.

Ensure that you don't have an existing configuration group with the same name as the one that you want to add from a catalog entry. To view the name of the new entry in the Configuration Catalog, see the Content field in the card for an entry.

Follow these steps to create a configuration group from the configuration catalog.

  1. From the Cisco SD-WAN Manager menu, click Configuration > Configuration Catalog.

  2. Choose the catalog entry label from the Choose labels drop-down list to view the available catalogs.

  3. Click View details on a specific catalog entry to check catalog entry details, detailed description, and customize the values as needed before installing.

  4. Click Install to install the catalog entry to your configuration.

On the Configuration Groups page , the Source (formerly Origin) column lists the source as Catalog for the new configuration group. Configuration groups with Catalog as the source are read-only.

Note

If you want to make modifications to a configuration group whose source is Catalog, such as adding a feature or deleting a feature, make a copy of the configuration group. For the copy, the Source (formerly Origin) column lists the source as User. You can edit configuration groups with User as the source.

Uninstall a catalog entry

  1. From the Cisco SD-WAN Manager menu, click Configuration > Configuration Catalog.

  2. Choose the catalog entry label from the Choose labels drop-down list to view the available catalogs.

  3. Click Uninstall to uninstall the catalog entry from your configuration.

This action removes the configuration group and all profiles and features that came with that entry.

Note

Before uninstalling, ensure that no devices are attached to the configuration group. Uninstalling a catalog entry does not delete any features used in the configuration groups other than the configuration group created by the entry.
