Un/Box the future with Cisco UCS® X-Series Modular System and Cisco Intersight®. Embrace an adaptable, future-ready, and cloud-operated system to simplify IT and innovate at the speed of software.
Cisco UCS X580p PCIe Node
The Cisco UCS X580p PCIe Node extends the modular capabilities of the Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System by delivering high-performance GPU support for a wide range of workloads including generative AI fine-tuning, inference, and legacy applications that require GPU acceleration. As the second generation of PCIe nodes, the X580p supports up to four PCIe GPUs and can be paired with the Cisco UCS X210c M8 Compute Node with Intel® Xeon® 6 processors, as well as the UCS X215c M8 compute node with EPYC™ processors offering Compute flexibility and choice, leveraging Cisco UCS X-Fabric Technology for GPU connectivity.
Designed for flexibility and scalability, the X580p integrates seamlessly into the Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis, which features a midplane-free architecture to enhance airflow and simplify future upgrades. Vertically oriented PCIe and compute nodes connect directly to horizontally oriented Cisco UCS X-Fabric modules, enabling GPU expansion without system disruption. Occupying two slots in the X-Series 9508 Chassis, the X580p offers significantly greater flexibility than the first-generation Cisco UCS X440p PCIe Node, allowing users to assign up to four air cooled GPUs with NVLink Bridge support without performance impact or throttling of power per compute node and share GPUs from a single X580p across up to two compute nodes. This allows customers to better align resources with application needs and optimize overall GPU utilization. With Cisco Intersight now extending its cloud-based, policy-driven management to include the X580p PCIe Node, IT teams gain unified control and visibility across both compute and GPU resources. This simplifies operations, accelerates deployment, and optimizes performance across hybrid environments, making the Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System a scalable, future-ready platform for any application.
The Cisco UCS X580p PCIe Node is the latest PCIe resource node to integrate into the Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System. The Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis has eight node slots, up to four of which can be X580p PCIe nodes when paired with Cisco UCS Compute Nodes. The UCS X580p PCIe Node supports up to four PCIe Gen5 x16 full-height, full-length dual-slot PCIe cards and requires Cisco UCS 9516 X-Fabric Modules for PCIe connectivity. This provides up to 8 GPUs per chassis to accelerate your applications with the UCS X580p Nodes.
With support for up-to 4 NVIDIA GPUs—including the NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell, H200 NVL, and L40S, the UCS X580p offers unparalleled flexibility to meet the diverse needs of enterprises. Leveraging the sophistication of the MGX modular reference design, this platform is also future-ready, with next-generation NVIDIA GPUs expected to seamlessly integrate as they become available.
