Cisco.com Login and Account Help

To create a Cisco account, use these steps:

1. Navigate to cisco.com and click Log in in the top right corner.
2. Click Sign up at the bottom of the page.
3. To create an account, you will need to enter this information:
   
   
   • Your email
   • A password
   • Your first and last name
   • Your country or region
4. Click Register.

To sign in to your Cisco account, use these steps:

1. Navigate to cisco.com and click Log in in the top right corner.
2. Enter your email address and click Next.
3. Enter your password and click Verify.
4. Complete the authentication process if you have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled.

If you have forgotten your password, use these steps to reset it:

1. Navigate to cisco.com and click Log in in the top right corner.
2. Enter your email address and click Next.
3. Click Forgot password?
4. Click Send me an email.
5. Enter the code you received via email and click Verify.
   If you do not receive the verification email, click Send again.

Your new password must be between 12 and 60 characters, including at least one character from each of these criteria:

• Lowercase letter (a-z)
• Uppercase letter (A-Z)
• Number (0-9)
• Special character (!, @, #, etc.)

Your password cannot:

• Contain your username
• Be a commonly used password
• Match any of your 8 previous passwords
• Be changed more than once within a one-hour period

If you are attempting to reset your password and have not received a password reset email, use these steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check Spam/Junk Folders: The email may have been filtered by your email provider or company's IT.
2. Verify Account Details: Confirm that the email you used to request a password reset is the primary email address associated with your Cisco ID.

If you have not received an email with your account verification code:

• Check Spam/Junk Folder: The email may have been filtered by your provider or organization's IT.
• Whitelist Cisco Automated Emails: You may need to contact your organization's IT to prevent automated emails from Cisco being blocked.

There are three reasons you may be encountering an "Unable to sign in" error:

Denied Party List (DPL) Hold (Security Check)

• Reason: Your account is undergoing a standard compliance review.
• Action: Allow up to 24 hours for the hold to be removed.
  You will receive a confirmation email after it has been cleared.

Locked Account

• Reason: Too many failed log in attempts.
• Action: Wait 20 minutes before attempting to log in again or follow the steps to manually unlock your account in the Signing in section of our FAQ. 

Expired Session

• Reason: Your browser session has timed out.
• Action: Clear your browser's cookies and try logging in again.

After creating a new account you may be momentarily returned to the log in page after setting a password.

Action: For security purposes, you are required to validate your credentials by logging in again.

A log in redirect loop or blank log in page is most often caused by browser extensions or stored site data.

Actions to resolve a log in loop or blank login page:

• Clear Cache and Cookies: After this, refresh the log in page.
• Use Different Browser: Try logging in with a different browser (for example, Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
• Configure VPN: If you are using a VPN, it may be blocking Cisco domains. Configure the VPN to allow Cisco domains or disable the VPN. Then refresh the log in page.

After logging in, there may be a several second delay before your user profile appears.

Action: Refresh the page. This should resolve the issue.

If your account has been locked, you can regain access by initiating the reset process. Please use these steps to unlock your account:

1. Navigate to cisco.com and click Log in.
2. Click Unlock account?
3. Enter your registered email address and click Next.
4. Click Send me an email.
   If you do not receive a verification email, click Send again.
   Note: If your account is not actually locked, the email you receive will tell you that it is not locked and that you should be able to sign in.
5. Click Enter the verification code.
6. Enter the verification code in the field and click Verify.
7. Your account will now be unlocked and you may log in again.

To enable MFA, you must download an authenticator app and configure your settings in your Cisco profile.

Supported Authenticator Apps

• Duo (preferred)
• MS Authenticator
• Google Authenticator
• Authy

Configuring MFA

1. Log in to your Cisco profile and navigate to your Account Security page.
2. Toggle Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on.
3. Enter your password to validate your identity.
4. In your chosen authenticator app either scan the QR code or manually enter the provided security key.
5. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and click Submit.
6. You will receive a notification after your MFA enrollment is complete.

If you have enrolled in MFA, you will be prompted to complete MFA verification during the log in process.

MFA Steps

1. Enter your password.
2. Open your chosen authenticator app to retrieve your unique 6-digit verification code.
3. Enter the verification code in the MFA request field.
4. Click Verify to complete your sign-in.

All Cisco partners are required to use MFA. New partners will be prompted at first login; existing partners should proactively enroll via the account security profile.

To proactively enroll in MFA:

1. After logging in, navigate to your Account Profile page.
2. Click Set up MFA on the prompt that appears (or the yellow notification bar, if you dismiss the prompt).
3. On the Account Security page, toggle Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on.
4. Enter your password to validate your identity.
5. In your chosen authenticator app either scan the QR code or manually enter the provided security key.
6. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and click Submit.
7. You will receive a notification after your MFA enrollment is complete.
   

If your authenticator code is not being accepted,the most common cause is the time on your mobile device being out of sync with the time on the Cisco server.

Action: Ensure the time on your device is set to "Automatic" or "Network Time". If the time on your device is out of sync, even slightly, the authentication codes will be rejected.

If you no longer have access to your registered MFA device, you will need to submit a Web Help Inquiry.

• Required Information: Provide your name, your registered email address, and a brief description of your issue.

There are no alternative methods for MFA, you must use one of the supported authenticator apps.

Is MFA Mandatory?

• General users: MFA use is discretionary and can be enabled for additional account security.
• Cisco partners and specific Cisco applications: MFA is mandatory. You will be prompted to set up MFA when signing in for the first time.

If you have lost the mobile device you registered for MFA, you have two options:

• If you are logged in: Navigate to Account Security to register a new device. See "How do I set up MFA?" in the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQ section.
• If you have been locked out: Submit a Web Help Inquiry to regain access to your account.

If you are encountering difficulty completing the MFA process, please consider these tips:

• Code Expiration: MFA codes expire and refresh periodically (typically 30 seconds). Ensure that you are entering the code before it expires.
• Time Settings: Time synchronization issues between your device and Cisco's servers can cause MFA code failure. See "Why are my Authenticator app codes not being accepted?" in the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQ section.
• Screen Switching: Your mobile device may suspend background apps when switching to another app. Keep the authenticator app open (or use a split-screen view if signing in on the same mobile device) during the MFA process.

Email changes are restricted to maintain the security and integrity of certification and account history. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis depending on your user type:

Individual Users

• Individual email changes are generally not supported.
• Under specific circumstances (such as merging profiles), please submit a Web Help Inquiry for an assessment of your account.

Corporate/Partner Accounts

• Bulk email changes are processed only when requested by your High Touch Operations Manager (HTOM) or your Cisco Account Manager.
• These requests are typically handled during corporate-level events, such as mergers or acquisitions.

If you are currently logged in and would like to update your password, you can do so from your Profile Management page.

Use these steps to update your password:

1. Log in and navigate to the Profile Management page.
2. Select the Security tab.
3. Click Edit in the Password section.
4. Enter your current password, followed by your new password and confirmation.
5. Click Submit.

After you have changed your password, you will need to sign back into your account using your new password.

While signed into your Cisco account, you can change several things in the Profile Management tabs:

Personal

You can change your first, last, and preferred name and your company's details.

Security

You can change your password, toggle MFA on or off, and edit your mobile phone number.

Settings

You can opt in to receiving email or phone updates on Cisco promotions, products, and services.

Cisco does not delete accounts, but you can request for it to be disabled. Disabling your account is a permanent action and removes access to Cisco services and associated data.

What access will I lose?

• Cisco communities and forums

To disable your account:

1. Visit Cisco Privacy Request.
2. Complete the web form.
3. Submit your request.

The Cisco Privacy team will review your request and respond within the timelines established by applicable privacy laws.

If your partner status is not being recognized by Cisco it is because your profile's access level has been improperly tagged.

Generally, being logged out when clicking "Access Management" is due to session-related errors.

Try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Clear Cache and Cookies: Outdated session data may conflict with the log in process.
2. Use an Incognito/Private Window: Try accessing the tool in an incognito window to determine if browser extensions are interfering with your login session.
3. Avoid Using Bookmarks: If you have bookmarked the Access Management page, the link may contain an expired session ID. Manually navigate to the Access Management page.

If you have changed companies, you will likely have received a new professional email address. To maintain your certification history and account profile, you need to link your existing Cisco ID to your new email address.

If you have lost access to the email address or phone number associated with your Cisco account, you will need to submit a Web Help Inquiry for assistance.

If you cannot log in to your Cisco account and need to contact support, there are two methods:

If your account is on hold, it is most likely due to a pending Denied Party List (DPL) compliance check. This is a mandatory verification process required by international trade regulations to ensure compliance before access is granted or restored.

DPL Hold Details

• Automatic Processing: DPL checks are performed automatically. These reviews are typically completed within a short time frame.
• Notifications: You will be notified of the approval or denial via email once the system completes verification.

Actions

• Waiting: Allow time for the automated review to conclude.
• Need an update? If your account has been on hold for an extended period, you can submit a Web Help Inquiry about the status of your review. You will need to provide your Cisco ID and the date the hold began.

You can manage your communication preferences and update which notifications you receive directly from your Cisco profile.

Manage your preferences:

1. Log in to your Cisco profile.
2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
3. Update your notification and communication choices based on your interests or requirements.
4. Click Submit.
