Humanitarian crises persist. Many people lack access to basic human needs: food, adequate shelter, and­ clean water. We empower nonprofits and social change agents worldwide to relieve these problems.

We support scalable technology solutions that help disaster-relief teams move faster and provide vital services to more people when disasters strike.

Relief for refugees

As the refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East escalated, Cisco employees stepped up as global problem solvers. We teamed up with NetHope to establish Wi-Fi connectivity for refugees on the move and in camps, and provided Cisco products and technical support through our Tactical Operations and Disaster Incident Response teams. And we awarded cash grants to strategic nonprofit partners who implemented technology-based solutions to help refugees on the ground. 

Sharing what we know

We advise and support nonprofits using technology to better accomplish their missions. Our investments have helped develop a mobile app that monitors water distribution points and promotes sustainable water projects, and enabled a hunger-relief organization to automate some shipping functions.

When disasters occur, our solutions and expertise are put to work. By harnessing the power of digital technology and providing personnel support, we help emergency response teams where it’s needed most.
