Online Tool Updates

This page provides you with recent updates to the online Cisco tools that enable you to keep your network up and running.

Cisco Support Website Improves Access to Technical Resources

Later this month, a new release of the Cisco Support Website will offer you faster, easier access to the technical support information you need. This release addresses your need for improved navigation and better organization of support resources.

In this new release, you will find:

  • All relevant product-specific support resources are now in a single location -- including technical documentation, related online tools, and NetPro Community.
  • Product information based on the tasks you are trying to accomplish, such as troubleshooting or configuring your equipment.
  • A streamlined and simplified Cisco Support homepage providing faster access to technical documentation.

In addition to the above changes, expanded options in the Cisco.com homepage support menu will provide you with more immediate access to technical resources and the TAC Service Request Tool.

Please visit the Cisco Support Website today to preview these updates.

Updates to SVO Tools and TSRT in September

In addition to the updates announced in last month's issue, recent changes have been made to the Service Order (SVO) Tools. These updates are designed to help enhance your experience.

Recent updates include:

  • SVO Submit -- Enabled part selection by Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) and for Marketing/Sales Bundle Part ID.
  • SVO Status -- Display of Asset Recovery Tool (ART) write-off codes to understand the reason for line closure or cancellation. You will see ART write-off code as the line status.
  • Management Reports -- Mail Stop information now displays on the customer shipping doc called "packing slip."

You can download an overview with additional details, including those for internal Cisco users.

If you visit the Cisco TAC Service Request Tool (TSRT) after September 21, you will see the new status description of "CISCO PENDING" which has replaced the service request statuses "DEPENDING" and "DEPENDING WORKAROUND." This update will not have any impact on how service requests are currently handled and worked.

Visit the Cisco TAC Service Request Tool and Cisco SVO Submit Tool today. Note: These tools are available only to registered customers with a valid service contract.
