| What is WEEE? | WEEE is the acronym used to refer to the European Union
(EU) Directive 2002/95/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
WEEE aims to reduce the waste associated with end-of-life electrical and

| What WEEE category is applicable for Cisco's products? | Cisco's products are classified as "Category 3: IT and telecommunications equipment", as defined in Annex 1A of the WEEE Directive and as "Other products or equipment of transmitting sound, images or other information by telecommunications" in Annex 1B. |

| How is Cisco implementing WEEE compliance? | Cisco's compliance approach varies between EU countries
in line with local legislation.
Registration; where it is permitted by local legislation, Cisco will register as the national 'producer' for its product sales and report routine sales and take back data in accordance with the local requirements. Where Cisco is not permitted to register as a national 'producer', Cisco is working with third party importers and end-users of its products to ensure that there are valid registrations in place. Product Take-back; Cisco is building on its existing product return, re-use, and recycling programs to deliver WEEE compliance. In each country affected by WEEE legislation, Cisco is offering a product take back program or has joined a national compliance scheme. | When will Cisco make available information on the location and removal instructions of material and components in its products requiring selective treatment according to the WEEE Annex II? | In accordance with WEEE requirements, Cisco will provide information on the presence of hazardous materials and/or components in Cisco products that require selective treatment to reuse and recycling centers within one year of new products being placed on the market after 13th August 2005. |
| What is Product End of Life Management? | Product End of Life Management (or PELM) refers to issues typically associated with the WEEE Directive. PELM may include reuse, refurbishment, recycling, and waste disposal of the product, after it no longer has value to the customer. |
