VCO4K-DC |
All VCO4K Cabinets may be fitted with this new orderable kit that presents the BITS Clock connector at the rear of the cabinet. |
Problem Description
The existing connector is not accessible during normal operation because it requires removal of the front door of the cabinet. This new orderable kit will allow the BITS Clock connector to be accessed from the rear of the unit with no service interruption.
Background
This orderable kit represents a design improvement in response to several customer requests for an alternate access method to the BITS Clock feature. The previous design required that the cabinet front door be removed which would require suspension of normal operation while the BITS Clock was connected. This new kit does not require service interruption.
Problem Symptoms
Customers utilizing an external clocking source would be required to attach a cable from that source to the DB9 connector. In certain instances, this may prevent the front door of the cabinet from closing properly.
Workaround/Solution
A new orderable kit improves this connection process by allowing the cable connecting the DB9 and the external clocking source to be re-routed through the rear of the cabinet.
