Power Over Ethernet Meets Switch Clustering

Formerly Linksys Business Series, now Cisco Small Business Smart Switches, the Cisco SLM248G4PS Gigabit Smart Switch contains many of the quality-of-service (QoS) and security functions found in Cisco's advanced switches. A cluster of six total switches can be created and managed through an easy-to-operate, intuitive web interface.

Included Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality reduces your reliance on extraneous power cables when connecting supported devices. The SLM248G4PS supports up to 48 connected devices with a maximum speed of 200 Mbps per port. Its included traffic management functionality allows it to maintain a top-quality user experience for high-bandwidth applications.

Additional features of the Cisco SLM248G4PS Gigabit Smart Switch include:

• A non-blocking switching capacity of 17.6 Gbps
• Port-level security using 802.1X authentication and MAC-based filtering
• Support for up to 128 port- and 802.1Q-based VLAN
• Network growth with Resilient Stacking, Link Aggregation, Spanning Tree
• Up to 24 ports (port 1-port 12, port 25-port 36) PoE with total power budget of 180 W
