End of Sales for C85GE-2X modules for the Catalyst 8540

To simplify ordering and improve the performance of the Catalyst^® 8500 family of products, Cisco Systems' is announcing the End of Sales (EOS) of the older 2-port Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interface modules. These Catalyst 8500 modules have enhanced replacement modules within the Catalyst 8500 Family. This bulletin announces the EOS for the following Catalyst 8500 Family members:

A Technology Migration Program (TMP) credit will be available for customers who trade in existing 2-port GE modules for the new 2-port Enhanced GE modules.

The recommended replacement products offer customers numerous benefits, including:

•Enhanced diagnostics

•Migration toward MPLS and IP QoS
