End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for
Cisco Catalyst 2948G-L3 and 4908G-L3 Switches
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life and end of sale for the Cisco® Catalyst® 2948G-L3 and 4908G-L3 switches. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst 2948G-L3 and 4908G-L3 products is October 31, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until October 31, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for these products.
The Cisco Catalyst 2948G-L3 and 4908G-L3 are fixed-configuration Layer 3 Ethernet switches featuring wire-speed switching for IP, Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX), and IP Multicast. The switches support all the routing protocols used in mid-sized networks. They support additional protocols for scalable, reliable networks and features such as quality of service (QoS), security, CiscoWorks2000, and EtherChannel® technology.
Important: This bulletin does not pertain to the Cisco Catalyst 2948G, 2980G, or 4912G switches.
