End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Catalyst 4000 Series 650-Watt DC Power Supply

Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® Catalyst® 4000 Series 650-Watt DC Power Supply. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst 4000 Series 650-Watt DC Power Supply is December 9, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 7, 2008. The Cisco Catalyst 4000 Series 400-Watt DC Power Supply will continue to be available. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst 4000 Series 650-Watt DC Power Supply.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series 1400-Watt DC Power Supply. This power supply supports 1+1 power supply redundancy and inline power pass-through with an integrated power entry module.

End of new service attachment date	For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract	December 8, 2004
End of service contract renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	December 12, 2007
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	December 7, 2008

Product Migration Options

The recommended replacement for the Cisco Catalyst 4000 Series 650-Watt DC Power Supply is the 1400-Watt DC power supply for the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 1400-Watt DC Power Supply supports 1+1 power supply redundancy and inline power pass-through with an integrated power entry module. A chassis upgrade is required because the 1400-Watt DC power supply cannot be deployed in a Cisco Catalyst 4003 or 4006 chassis.

Table 3 provides information for migrating from the Cisco Catalyst 4000 650-Watt DC Power Supply to the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series 1400-Watt DC Power Supply.

Refurbished Equipment Program
