Cisco announces end-of-life (EoL) of the Cisco 1000BaseT Gigabit Interface Connector (GBIC), WS-G5482, for the Catalyst® 3500 Series XL and 2900 Series XL switches.
At the same time, Cisco introduces the new Cisco 1000BaseT GBIC, WS-G5483=. This GBIC provides all the technology benefits of the current product, and now extends its compatibility to the full range of Cisco modular and desktop switching products—the Catalyst 6500, 4000, 3550, 2950, 3500 XL, and 2900 XL switches.
