End of Life of MGX 8800 RPM Cards

Overview

Cisco Systems announces the end of life (EoL) of the MGX 8800 MGX-RPM-64M and MGX-RPM-128 cards listed in Table 1. These cards have been replaced by a new-generation card, MGX-RPM-128/B, which has greater functionality.

Product

Cisco announces the EoL of the MGX 8800 RPM cards listed in Table 2.

Future software releases will continue to support the MGX-RPM-64M and MGX-RPM-128M cards with new features until MGX 8800 software Release 2.0 and IOS® 12.1 software. However, as of December 30, 1999, all orders for the MGX-RPM-64M card will automatically be converted to an order for the MGX-RPM-128M/B card. Software support for the above products will be provided until August 2002. Hardware support for the above products will be provided until August 2004.

These cards will be replaced with the next-generation cards listed in Table 3.

MGX 8800 software Release 1.1.11 with Cisco IOS 12.0(5)T1 are minimum requirements for RPM/B. CWM/SV+ support for this card begins at CWM 9.2.05.

Last date to enter orders is December 30, 1999 (for components as part of a system and/or as a spare).
