Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® Catalyst® 8500 Manager 1.0. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst 8500 Manager 1.0 is November 18, 2005. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until November 18, 2008.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst Switch 8500 Manager 1.0. Table 2 provides a listing of product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco LAN Management System. 2.2. LMS 2.2 provides significant additional features for not only the 8500 platform, but many other Cisco platforms.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco Catalyst 8500 Manager 1.0 is the Cisco LA N Management Solution V2.2. LMS 2.2 provides all the major features and benefits of the Cisco Catalyst 8500 Manager 1.0.
