INTRODUCTION
Cisco Systems® is pleased to announce Cisco IOS® Software updates for the Cisco® Catalyst® 3750 Metro Series switches. As premier Metro Ethernet access switches, the Cisco Catalyst 3750 Metro Series switches bring greater intelligence to the Metro Ethernet edge and help enable the delivery of differentiated Metro Ethernet services.
This product bulletin describes content and delivery information about Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AX2. This is an Early Deployment release, based on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)EA1 that runs on the Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series Switch. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AX2 contains all features of Release 12.1E delivered up to and including the Catalyst 3750's version of Release 12.1(14)EA1.
The Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AX2 should not be used for the Cisco Catalyst 3750, 3560, 3550, 2970, 2950, 2955, 2950LRE, or 2940 series Intelligent Ethernet switches.
The platform and features delivered with this Early Deployment release will be immediately incorporated into the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S train. It is important to note that no maintenance releases are planned for this Early Deployment release. In addition, note the migration path to the S release. Customers should prepare to upgrade using this migration path (Figure 1).

NEW FEATURES IN CISCO IOS SOFTWARE RELEASE 12.1(14)AX2

Because of export restrictions on strong cryptography software, a separate image is required for the cryptographic features (SSH, Simple Network Management Protocol Version 3 [SNMPv3], and Kerberos). These software images also can be downloaded from the Software Download page on Cisco.com.
