Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 830 Series Routers. The last day to order the affected product is June 30, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until June 28, 2012. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 870 Series Integrated Services Routers. Table 2 provides relevant information for migrating to the replacement product. The Cisco integrated services routers are engineered for secure, wire-speed delivery of concurrent data, voice, video, and wireless services. An integrated systems approach to embedded services speeds application deployment to help reduce operating costs and complexities. Cisco is the first in the industry to embed security and voice services into a single routing system for fast, scalable delivery of mission-critical business applications to organizations of all sizes. PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco 830 Series Routers is the Cisco 870 Series Integrated Services Routers.
Customers who are using the Cisco 830 Series are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 870 Series for secure data and wireless applications or to the Cisco 1800 Series when higher availability with backup interfaces, or higher performance is needed. Founded on 20 years of leadership and innovation, the Cisco 870 Series integrated services routers intelligently embed data, security, and wireless technology into a single, resilient system for fast, secure delivery of mission-critical business applications to small and medium-sized businesses and small branch offices. The 870 Series is also used by service providers to offer business-class broadband and wireless LAN services. The Cisco 1800 Series enables highly available networks via backup interfaces, higher-performance wireless LAN options, and up to eight built-in 10/100 Ethernet switch ports with built-in Power over Ethernet support. Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase the end-of-sale product through Cisco's Authorized Refurbished Equipment program. Refurbished units of the end-of-sale product are available in limited supply for sale in certain countries on a first-come, first-served basis.
