EoS/EoL Cisco IOS SW Releases 12.2(11)YZ for 7304 & 7301 Router

END-OF-LIFE NOTICE NO. 2492

Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco IOS® Software releases 12.2(11)YZ of the Cisco® 7304 and Cisco 7301 routers. The last day to order the 12.2(11)YZ releases is Dec 1, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until Dec 1, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S or later on the Cisco 7304 Router, with new features and enhanced after-sale support. Information about Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S support can be found at:

Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(11)YZ to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(3)M or 12.3(4)T or later on the Cisco 7301 Router, with new features and enhanced after-sale support. Information about Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(3) support can be found at:

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS

The recommended replacement for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(11)YZ on the Cisco 7304 is Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S (Table 3). Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S or later is the recommended release for all customers interested in new features. Release 12.2S has feature parity to Release 12.2(11)YZ. For Cisco 7304 customers deploying Release 12.2(11)YZ today, all features are supported in Release 12.2(20)S or later.

The recommended replacement for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(11)YZ on the Cisco 7301 is Cisco 12.3(3)M or 12.3(4)T (Table 3). Both of these releases provide feature parity to Release 12.2(11)YZ, and these releases contain several new features.

Release difference	This was a special release that was focused on support for Cisco 7301 and Cisco 7304 only. This release was parented from Release 12.2(11)S.	This is the recommended release for Cisco 7301. It is based on 12.2 T releases. All features supported on 12.2(11)S are also available in 12.3(3)M and 12.3(4)T releases.	This is the recommended release for Cisco 7301 for those customers wishing to remain on 12.2 Train.	The recommended software release for Cisco 7304 as well as high-end Cisco routers. It's based on 12.1E and is compatible with all features offered by Release 12.2(11)YZ.
