Product Migration Options
Customers are encouraged to migrate from the Cisco 7206VXR Router NPE-400 end-of-sale bundles (the C7206VXR/400/GE, C7206VXR/400/2FE, and C7206VXR/VOICE/400) to the higher-performing Cisco 7200VXR solutions with either the NPE-G2 or NPE-G1 Network Processing Engine. The Cisco 7200VXR solutions with NPE-G2 and NPE-G1 also offer more flexibility through support of the port adapter jacket card that makes use of the I/O controller card slot on the 7200VXR chassis and supports high-bandwidth point port adapters including the high-performing encryption module C7200-VSA (with NPE-G2).
The new Cisco 7200 NPE-400 bundle based on the Cisco 7204VXR 4-slot chassis (part number 7204VXR/400) is priced at the same level but offers a higher-performing engine than the end-of-sale NPE-225 bundle (part number 7204VXR/CPE). At this attractive pricing, the 7204VXR/400 bundle is the new entry-level solution in Cisco's midrange routing portfolio.
