Product Bulletin No. 3270
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Unique Device Identifier Retrieval feature provides the ability to retrieve and display the Unique Device Identifier (UDI) information from any Cisco Systems® product that has electronically stored such identity information. The Cisco® 10000 Series Router will support UDI retreival starting with Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(28)SB.
Each identifiable product is an entity, as defined by the Entity MIB (RFC 2737) and its supporting documents. Cisco 10000 Series hardware supporting this feature will have an assigned UDI. The UDI information is printed on a label affixed to the physical hardware device, and it is also stored electronically on the device in order to facilitate remote retrieval. Some hardware may not support retreival of all the UDI elements.
A UDI consists of identifier elements. Table 1 lists the available UDI elements.
