The CiscoWorks Small Network Management Solution (SNMS) 1.5.1 is a comprehensive, cost-effective, and user-friendly solution that provides a set of advanced monitoring, configuration, and management tools to simplify network administration. It includes a set of applications that maximize the life span of Cisco® devices by closely monitoring the devices and providing tools to manage the Cisco IOS® Software OS functions. This Web-based solution works optimally in business environments with approximately 30 to 40 Cisco internetworking devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and access servers. CiscoWorks SNMS provides a comprehensive solution with powerful tools to manage Cisco networks and monitor third-party IT assets such as servers, applications, services, and printers.
CiscoWorks SNMS offers a centralized dashboard for device management, a single window to launch multiple applications that provide in-depth data on the behavior of the device on the network. Using a combination of the applications in CiscoWorks SNMS, users can both monitor and optimize their networks. CiscoWorks SNMS is ideal for companies that need a common solution for their servers, business applications, and network management from a single application.
CiscoWorks SNMS includes:
• Web interface for all applications---CiscoWorks SNMS can be used from any browser in the network with the appropriate user authentication.
• Reduction in complexity and setup time---Simple integrated installation, autodiscovery, and automated import of devices using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) reduces complexities and overall setup time associated with managing the network.
• Standards-based vendor management---CiscoWorks SNMS provides standards-based, multiple vendor management. The What'sUp Gold application included with CiscoWorks SNMS allows administrators to view live network information, including the status of servers, workstations, routers, firewalls, and services.
• New device support---Regular device updates are provided through downloadable files from the Software Center on Cisco.com. This helps users to manage the most currently available Cisco devices without waiting for new versions of CiscoWorks SNMS to be released.
• Robust lifecycle-management capability---For configuring, managing, and monitoring Cisco devices.
