Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® CNS Network Registrar® 3.5. The last day to order the Cisco CNS Network Registrar 3.5 is June 29, 2002. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until July 30, 2004.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco CNS Network Registrar 3.5. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco CNS Network Registrar 6.1, a full-featured system that provides Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) scalable naming and addressing services for enterprise and service provider networks. The recommended replacement for the Cisco CNS Network Registrar 3.5 is the Cisco CNS Network Registrar 6.1. Cisco CNS Network Registrar 6.1 dramatically improves the reliability of naming and addressing services for enterprise networks. For cable Internet service providers (ISPs), Cisco CNS Network Registrar provides scalable DNS and DHCP services and forms the basis of a DOCSIS® cable modem provisioning system.
