Naming Rules for Users and Roles

Table B-1 lists the rules for usernames, passwords, and roles. These rules apply to WLSE users configured in the Administration > User Admin subtab and to users configured by using the CLI username command.

Table B-1 Allowable Characters for Users and Roles

Type	Rules
User Name	•No more than 32 characters. •Case sensitive. •Except for the full stop/period (.) and dash (-), the characters from Table B-2
User Password	•No limit on length. •Case sensitive. •Any alphanumeric character and the underscore.
Role	•No more than 32 characters. •Case sensitive. •Any character from Table B-2.

Naming Rules for Names and Descriptions

Table B-2 lists the allowable characters for names and descriptions in most WLSE dialogs. The number of characters allowed are:

•Names—no more than 64 characters allowed

Note Each job name (configuration, firmware, or AP radio scan) must be unique.

•Descriptions—no more than 256 characters allowed

Note Do not use the Enter key in any Description fields.
