Cisco IOS Releases 12.2(35)EX and later run on the Catalyst Express 520-8PC-K9 switch.
These release notes include important information about this Cisco IOS release and any limitations, restrictions, and caveats that apply to it. Verify that these release notes are correct for your switch. To find the release number of the Cisco IOS image running on your switch:

Device Manager System Requirements
The device manager hardware and software requirements are described in the User Guide for the Catalyst Express 520 Switches.
Upgrading the Switch Software
The software upgrade procedure is described in the Cisco Configuration Assistant online help. To upgrade the switch, you must download and use Cisco Configuration Assistant.
Limitations and Restrictions
You should review this section before you begin working with the switch. These are known limitations that will not be fixed, and there is not always a workaround. Some features might not work as documented, and some features could be affected by recent changes to the switch hardware or software.

When a PC is connected directly to a switch port, the username password dialog appears twice before the device manager page appears.
The workaround is to enter the username and the password in both dialog windows.

The PC must have a network interface card (NIC) driver that supports IEEE 802.1Q packet tagging if either:

A port fails under these conditions:

The workaround is to use a crossover cable to connect the two ports, regardless of the speed settings.
Important Notes
When the device manager is launched in secured mode with Internet Explorer 6.0 or FireFox1.5, several security certificates appear. Accept all of the certificates. The device manager then appears.
Open Caveats
•
You cannot configure the copper interface of the dual-purpose port if an SFP module is installed in it.
The workaround is to first remove the SFP module and then connect the copper cable.
•
You cannot set up the switch for the first time if the switch is connected to an upstream DHCP server and to your management station at the same time. (You can set up the switch by using a PC connected to a one of the switch Ethernet ports or by connecting it to a DHCP server, but not both.)
The workaround is to disconnect the switch from the uplink DHCP server, connect a PC to one of the switch Ethernet ports, and configure the switch by using the Express Setup program.

•
On a Cisco platform that receives a TCP SYN packet on a non-listening port, restore (RST) packets might contain a non-randomized identification value on the IP header.
There is no workaround.
•
A Cisco IOS device may crash while processing an SSL packet. This can happen during the termination of an SSL-based session. The offending packet is not malformed and is normally received as part of the packet exchange.
Cisco has released free software updates that address this vulnerability.
Aside from disabling affected services, there are no available workarounds to mitigate an exploit of this vulnerability.

If the HTTP secure server capability is present, the switch shows the following error message:
%DATACORRUPTION-1-DATAINCONSISTENCY: copy errorThis error message displays if the HTTP server is configured by using the ip http server global configuration command.
The workaround is to disable the HTTP server by using the no ip http server global command.
