ACS	Access control server.
ADSL	Asymmetrical digital subscriber line.
APM	AccessPath Manager; a Cisco dial stack management system, now called Cisco Access Manager (CAM).

BC	Bearer capability.

C
CAM	Cisco Access Manager, a Cisco dial stack management system; formerly APM.
CAS	Channel associated signaling.
CDR	Call detail record.
CHAP	Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol.
CLI	Command-line interface.
CLID	Calling line identification.
CO	Central office; telephone company phone switch.
CoS	Class of service.
CSD	Circuit switch data (for example, ISDN data call).
CSV	Comma-separated value; a nonproprietary comma-delimited file used to transfer data into spreadsheet programs.
CT1	Channelized T1 trunk service.

DNIS	Dialed number information service (the called telephone number).
DOVBS	Data over Voice Bearer Service. Not available in Cisco RPMS Release 2.0.1.
DS0	A single 64K/56K channel in a PRI or CT1.

GRS	Global Roaming Server.
GKTMP	Cisco Gatekeeper Transaction Message Protocol.
GUI	Graphical User Interface.

H.323	An International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) standard that describes packet-based video, audio, and data conferencing.
HA	High availability.
HDLC	High-Level Data Link Control.
HTML	Hypertext Markup Language.
HTTP	Hypertext Transfer Protocol; the protocol for moving hypertext files across the Internet.

ISDN	Integrated Services Digital Network; a digital circuit-switched telephony infrastructure.
ISP	Internet service provider.

LNS	L2TP Network Server.
LRQ	Location Request.

MIB	Management Information Base; an SNMP-compliant description of a network device.

NAS	Network access server. Refers to non-Cisco equipment.
NEBS	Network Equipment Building Systems; a standard for switches and other equipment.
NOC	Network operations center.

PAP	Password Authentication Protocol.
POP	Point of Presence.
POPM	Point of Presence Manager.
POTS	Plain old telephone service; the acronym is used in the term "POTS-routable," which refers to the ability of the telephone system to deliver a call to a particular switch and return a particular DNIS.
PPM	Port Policy Management.
PRI	Primary Rate Interface, an ISDN service.
PSTN	Public Switched Telephone Network.

RADIUS	Remote Access Dial-In User Service; the protocol used for communication between the UG and the RPMS.
RASER	Remote Access Service Router .
RFC	Request For Comments; a document published by the InterNIC describing a proposed Internet standard.
RLM	Redundant Link Manager.
RPM	Resource Pool Manager; the standalone resource pool management application that resided on the UG in Cisco RPMS 1.x.
RPMS	Resource Policy Management System.
RSP	Regional service provider.

SIP	Session Initiation Protocol.
SLA	Service level agreement.
SNMP	Simple Network Management Protocol.
SQL	Structured Query Language.
SSL	Secure Socket Layer; a security protocol that provides privacy over HTTP.

TA	(ISDN) terminal adapter.
TCP/IP	Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol.
TMN	Telecommunications Management Network; a standard for management of data networks.

UCP	User Control Point (formerly Network Control Point [NCP]).
UG	Universal Gateway.
