With Cisco InterCloud, customers can build secure hybrid clouds and extend their existing data center to public clouds as needed and on demand. Connect on-premises data center infrastructure to multiple service providers and take advantage of flexible, pay-as-you-grow capacity. Ultimately, achieve lower costs and faster delivery of resources.
Features and Capabilities
Cisco InterCloud is a highly secure, open and flexible solution that enables complete freedom in workload placement as per business needs. It ensures the same network security, quality of service (QoS), and access control policies in public cloud previously enforced in the data center. And as capacity is added, there is no demarcation between internal cloud and external cloud.
Key features include:
- Self-service consumption of hybrid resources with end-user and IT portals
- Workload provisioning and bi-directional migration across on-premises and cloud resources
- End-to-end security with consistent policy enforcement across the hybrid cloud
- A single point of management and control for physical and virtual workloads across multiple private and public clouds
- A choice of cloud providers and hypervisors
The InterCloud solution consists of the InterCloud Director, InterCloud Secure Fabric, and the InterCloud Provider Enablement Platform. Use these three components together to create and migrate application workloads between public and private clouds.
InterCloud Director offers a single console so users can provision workloads to private and public clouds. Also, end-user and IT Admin portals help enable self-service consumption of hybrid cloud resources as well as policy management across hybrid cloud environments.
InterCloud Secure Fabric creates the connectivity across multiple clouds. It helps ensure workload migration connects in a highly secure manner by maintaining all network and security policies specific to that workload.
InterCloud Provider Enablement Platform is a virtual appliance that is deployed and managed by cloud providers. Add providers quickly without building or adding their own API. It provides visibility into the provider's environment and helps enable onboarding of workloads from the enterprise to the provider's cloud.
Cisco InterCloud Business Edition includes InterCloud Director and InterCloud Secure Fabric. Made for enterprise organizations, it allows connectivity with large-scale clouds, such as Azure and Amazon, and with service providers operating InterCloud Provider Enablement Platform.
Cisco InterCloud Provider Edition/provider managed is licensed by the service provider for use with multiple enterprise customers.
