Today, Cisco announced its intent to acquire Astrix Security, a privately held enterprise cybersecurity company and pioneer in Non-Human Identity (NHI) security.
Astrix’s platform leverages a threat-driven, identity-centric approach to agentic security, enabling security teams to:
- Discover: Astrix’s platform maintains a real-time inventory of all AI agents, MCP servers, and NHIs with full context to understand risk and business usage, giving organizations comprehensive visibility into every non-human and agentic identity operating within their environment.
- Secure: Once identities are discovered and inventoried, Astrix’s platform automatically identifies and remediates AI agents and NHIs that have excessive privileges, vulnerable configurations, abnormal activity, or policy violations.
- Deploy: Astrix supports the secure provisioning of AI agents with short-lived credentials, just-in-time access, and policy enforcement at deployment, helping to ensure that AI agents are built and launched with security embedded by design.
