Validate network adapter settings and power on

Perform this procedure for all Windows VMs.

Procedure
Step 1   Select the Virtual Machine in the vSphere client. Right-click the VM and choose Edit settings.
Step 2   On the Hardware tab, select each Network adapter. Make sure that Connect at power on in the Device Status group is checked:
    1. Under Network Connection, select the appropriate network connection from the Network label drop-down list.

Unified CCE systems have two network adapters. Network adapter 1 must be set to UCCE Public. Network adapter 2 must be set to UCCE Private.

All other VMs have only Network adapter 1, which must be set to UCCE Public.

    2. Click OK.
Step 3   Power on the virtual machine.
    Important:

Do not press Ctril-Alt_Del. If you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete after powering on, the customization does not take effect. You must complete it manually. For more information, see http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Recover_from_Pressing_Ctrl-Alt-Del_During_Power-On .

Step 4   Wait for the VM to restart and to apply customization. This can take five to ten minutes.

Step 9   To synchronize time with the domain controller, open a command prompt and type the command NET TIME /DOMAIN:<domain>.

            Rename and rebind network adapters

After importing Golden Templates for the Call Server and the Data Server, you must reconfigure the network adapters.

            Procedure
Step 1   Identify the MAC addresses and labels for the network adapters as follows:
              1. From vCenter, select and right-click the VM.
              2. Select Edit Settings. In the Hardware tab, click Network adapter 1. In the right panel, write down the last few digits of MAC Addresses and note whether the label is UCCE Public or UCCE Private. For example, Network Adapter 1 might have a MAC address that ends in 08-3b and the Network label UCCE Public.
              3. Repeat for Network adapter 2, noting its MAC address and label.
              4. From the VM console, type ipconfig/all from the command line. This displays the adapter names and Physical Addresses.
              5. Note the adapter names and Physical Addresses and match them with the MAC addresses and labels that you noted in VMware. For example, in ipconf/all, Local Area Connection 2 might have might have Physical Address that ends in 08-3b.
              6. Match the MAC address of the network adapter that VMware identified as UCCE Public with the corresponding Physical Address of Local Area Connector. In this example, the Physical Address of Local Area Connection 2 (08-3b) matches the MAC Address (o8-3b) of Network Adapter 1 matches. This means that Local Area Connection 2 is UCCE Public.
Step 2   Locate and rename the network adapters in Windows as follows:
              1. Open the Network and Sharing Center and select Local Area Connection.
              2. Right-click Local Area Connection and select Rename. Rename it to UCCE Public or UCCE Private, based on the matching you did above.
              3. Right-click Local Area Connection 2 and select Rename. Rename it to UCCE Public or UCCE Private, based on the matching you did above. In the example above, Local Area Connection 2 is renamed to UCCE Public.
Step 3   Set the Properties for UCCE Private as follows:
              1. Navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and edit the Host file and add an entry with the IP address and fully-qualified domain name of the server.
              2. In the DNS Server, add an entry for the private IP address. Append a suffix such as p to the hostname for this IP, to identify it as a private.
Step 4   Set the binding order as follows:
              1. In Network Connections, press Alt. Then select Advanced > Advanced Settings.
              2. In the top panel of the Adapters and Bindings dialog box, make sure that the UCCE Public connection is above the UCCE Private connection. Use the arrow buttons if necessary to put them in the correct sequence. Then click OK.

              Run Security Wizard

                  Note

Replace peers with a comma-separated list of NTP servers.
                2. Restart the w32time service: net stop w32time && net start w32time.
                3. Synch w32time service with peers: w32tm /resync.
                4. Use the following Service Control command to ensure proper start of the w32time service on any reboot of the server: sc triggerinfo w32time start/networkon stop/networkoff.

                Copy files to CVP

Perform this procedure for CVP OAMP Server, CVP Server, and CVP Reporting Server after the install of CVP but prior to the export of the templates.
