As of July 2018, Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program recognized and approved the Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops Certification (now called Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate) for inclusion in the DoD-Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications for the job roles of CSSP Analyst and CSSP Incident Responder.
The United States Department of Defense recognizes the Cisco CCNA Security, Cisco CCNP Security, and Cisco CCNA CyberOps (now called Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate) Certifications as DoD 8570.01-M approved certifications. The DoD 8570 Directive provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management of all DoD employees, contractors, and others with privileged access to DOD Systems performing Information Assurance functions in their line of duty. These individuals are required to carry an approved certification for their particular job roles and classifications.
Based on the Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program Advisory Council Certification Committee's recommendation, the Cisco CCNA Security and CCNP Security Certifications have been approved for IAT Level II and Level III respectively. The Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops Certification is approved for the CSSP Analyst and CSSP Incident Responder categories. All three of these certifications are accredited by ANSI, and meet the ISO 17024 standard.
