Jazzware Inc. announces intent to acquire Cisco’s BroadSoft Hospitality group, JAZZ Fusion

SAN JOSE, CA. – On September 19, 2018, the Dillon Kane Group (DKG) and TAO Venture Partners (TAO) created a new company called Jazzware, Inc., and entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Broadsoft Hospitality products, (JAZZ Fusion, Telemanager, and TCM), a business unit of Cisco’s recent acquisition, BroadSoft. Jazzware, Inc. will acquire the technology, staff and operations of BroadSoft Hospitality (JAZZ Fusion).

Upon close, JAZZ Fusion, soon to be Jazzware, provides the most comprehensive middleware solution to the hospitality industry and is relied upon by leading hotel brands and premiere channel partners for uninterrupted daily operations. The acquisition will create a nimble and responsive supplier to the hospitality industry. Jazzware plans to extend the legacy JAZZ Fusion technology to enable enhanced guest experiences and operational efficiencies with mobility, analytics, and new systems integrations.

DKG has successfully acquired five operating units from Cisco using their “lift out” methodology and brings significant technical development capabilities and synergistic products including “Instant Connect Push to Talk” systems and the “Felix” analytic platform to the solution. Tom Clancy (TAO founder), a 30+ year seasoned and well-respected software executive and venture capital investor will assume the executive chairman role.

The choice of DKG and TAO by Cisco was heavily influenced by the beneficial outcome for customers and employees. Cisco is committed to providing a smooth transition to Jazzware Inc. to ensure customers’ businesses are not disrupted.

Given Cisco’s strategy, we believe the JAZZ Fusion technology and services will be most successful with Jazzware, Inc.

Q: Why is Cisco selling JAZZ Fusion, which is part of the recently acquired BroadSoft business?
A: JAZZ Fusion is a business unit that was part of the BroadSoft acquisition in February 2018. The BroadSoft solution is well aligned with Cisco’s strategic cloud and SP vision, however, JAZZ Fusion is a specialty product for the hotel, casino and the hospitality industry, and is outside of Cisco’s strategic focus. Given Cisco’s strategy, we believe the divestiture will create a relationship that can be more responsive, delivering specific features that hospitality customers require and extending the platform to enhance the guest experience and hospitality operations.

Q: What is the JAZZ Fusion offering? 
A: BroadSoft Hospitality’s core offering is the cloud-based JAZZ Fusion solution. As a fully managed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering, JAZZ Fusion is designed to reduce capital expense and to reduce the cost of ownership to the end user. The solution’s guest-centric architecture enables hotels to customize the guest experience based upon corporate affiliation, loyalty membership, or event specific participation.

In addition to the JAZZ Fusion product, BroadSoft Hospitality also provides return-on-investment, analytics-based management services designed to optimize cost and revenue performance.

JAZZ Fusion and the BroadSoft Hospitality analytics services are installed at, and endorsed by, many of the largest global hotel companies.
