Cisco has Completed the Acquisition of Dashbase

Investing in strengthening the foundation of the Cisco AppDynamics platform.

Overview

SAN JOSE, Calif. –  On January 25, 2021 – Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) announced the completion of the acquisition of Dashbase Inc., a privately held enterprise software company headquartered in Palo Alto, CA. Dashbase enables us to expand the Cisco AppDynamics platform with additional capabilities to support an even broader set of data sources in a scalable, high-performance way.

With the shift to Cloud technologies, modern architectures have become too complex for even their operators to fully comprehend. That’s why Cisco is building a platform that helps customers see, understand and optimize what happens inside and beyond their stack with the user and business context needed to prioritize and resolve the IT actions that matter most to the business.

The integration of Dashbase’s logs and events analytics technology into the Cisco AppDynamics platform will enable customers to support broader and more highly unique and uncommon data sources across cloud and traditional environments.

Members of the Dashbase team bring extensive experience building highly scalable data platforms at some of the best-known hyper-scale companies like Twitter, Pinterest, Yahoo and LinkedIn. This strengthens the AppDynamics team and helps accelerate development of the Cisco AppDynamics vision and technology.

 Dashbase’s cloud-native logs and events analytics solution is purpose-built to handle petabyte-scale data by separating indexing, search and storage tiers. Key functionality includes a distributed search engine and data system with support for metrics and traces, in addition to logs. These technical capabilities will augment the already powerful data capabilities of the Cisco AppDynamics platform.
