Virtualization for Unified Contact Center Enterprise - Supplemental Information

Virtualization details below specify the supported third-party software (like VMware) and its versions. Support for these software versions and their interoperability depends on the release cycles (patches and upgrades) of the third-party software. For example, support for ESXi depends on VMware release cycles.

Version 12.5

(top)

For more information, please see Virtualization for Unified Contact Center Enterprise - Additional Information.

IMPORTANT: The Nexus 1000v and other Cisco distributed virtual switches based on the Nexus 1000v are not compatible with ESXi 6.5 after Update 1. See the VMware article on the discontinuation of third-party vSwitches for more details.

Notes on UCS Tested Reference Configuration and Specs-based Support

(top)

Cisco announces end of sale and end of life for: When the hardware support is specified as "Yes (See details)", the following exceptions exist, as applicable to the TRC or Specs-based policy referenced:
  • For Hyperflex TRCs (M4 or HX220c M5SX), CCE/PCCE 11.6 only provides spec-based support.
  • For more information on Unified CCE oversubscription support policy, see the Virtual Machines Resource Provisioning Policy section in the Contact Center Design Guide.

Co-residency Support Policy

(top)

Unified CCE adheres to the following Co-residency policies by version:

Version Co-residency Policy
12.x Limited
11.x Limited
10.x Limited
9.x Limited

Notes on Megahertz (MHz) Sizing

(top)

Indicated MHz is in context of the Solution Design Guides for Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise and Solution Design Guides for Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise. Please see those design guides for how to use this MHz information in Cisco-supported designs, or for more information.

IOPS and Storage System Performance Requirements

(top)

Unified CCE follows UC storage system design requirements. For more information, refer to UC Virtualization Storage System Design Requirements.

For information about TRC versus specs-based support for storage systems, refer to UC Virtualization Supported Hardware.

All Unified CCE VM vDisks must be deployed Thick Provisioned, Lazy, or Eager Zeroed. Thin Provisioned vDisks are not supported.

For IOPS information about CUIC, see CUIC IOPS information.

Storage Area Networks and Specs-based policy storage solutions must be able to handle the following Unified CCE application disk I/O characteristics. Tested Reference Configurations (TRC) for Cisco UCS C-Series servers do not need to apply these requirements against their Direct Attached Storage Arrays (DAS).
