VOIP SERVICES OVERTAKING POTS IN EU – A majority of the participants in a survey commissioned by voice infrastructure services provider Sonus Networks at the recent Carriers World 2004 event, responded that consumer and business voice over IP (VoIP) services were overtaking POTS in terms of traffic generated, while other participants responded that if VoIP had not yet surpassed traditional telephony, it would within the next two years.
