Problem Description
Packet-Over-SONET (POS) link status/alarms are not reporting correctly to the Gigabit Route Processor (GRP). The status/alarm reporting defect is issuing the GRP false information on the POS SONET link. The link may go down when it should be up, and vice versa.
Background

CSCdk27192 is resolved but missed the release of 11.2(11)GS2.
Details

Workaround/Solution
Workaround:
There is no workaround.
Cisco recommends against using Cisco IOS 11.2(11)GS2 if operating with a POS Linecard listed in Products Affected above. Downgrade to 11.2(11)GS1 until 11.2(11)GS3 is released.
Solution:
To obtain the new features delivered in Cisco IOS maintenance release 11.2(11)GS2 Cisco recommends to use 11.2(11)GS3 which will be orderable and available August 1998.
