Problem Description
In mixed ONS 15305 and ONS 15454 SDH networks, turning up DCC may lead to continuous rebooting of the ONS 15305, and possible loss of communication over the DCN.
Background
This issue has been seen in mixed ONS 15035 and ONS 15454 SDH networks, usually with over 30 to 40 nodes, where the ONS 15305 is running Software Release 3.0.0.
Problem Symptoms
The ONS 15305 running Software Release 3.0.0 continuously reboots, and CTM R7.2 loses communication with the ONS 15305 nodes.
Workaround/Solution
Both a workaround and a solution exist for this issue.
The workaround consists of disabling OSPF on the DCCs, and establishing manual links on CTM 7.2 to enable E2E SDH provisioning.
The solution is to upgrade to ONS 15305 Software Maintenance Release 3.0.2.
Note: This upgrade should be completed during a maintenance window as it could result in a minimal traffic outage.
15305-R3.0.2SWCD= is not affected by the issue.
