PGW2200 - 9.5(2) |
PGW 9.5(2) patch system 40/nn33. PGW 9.5(2) patch system 41/nn34 |
Problem Description
-
This problem affects PGW customers using PGW release 9.5(2) who have subsequently installed patch S40/nn33 or S41/nn34.
-
PGW fails-over intermittently from active to standby.
Background
The issue is related to an unpredictable timing condition associated with one of the PGW components. The issue is limited to PGW release 9.5(2) patch S40/nn33 and S41/nn34.
Problem Symptoms
PGW may fail-over intermittently for no apparent reason.
Workaround/Solution
The preferred solution is to download patch gs042/nn034 from Cisco.com.
If the patch can not be downloaded from Cisco.com, the workaround below can be applied. In order to configure the workaround, execute the following steps:
-
On both PGWs, edit XECfgParm.dat and modify the value of the following parameter to 3000:
*.CallRateTimerInterval = 3000
-
Restart Standby PGW and make sure that status changes to STANDBY
-
Switch-over from ACTIVE PGW to the STANDBY PGW
Note: Once the patches, gs042/nn034, for CSCsc06805, are installed, the above parameter should be reset to 1000.
