Problem Description
It is possible for all releases prior to R5.0.2 on the ONS 15600 15600-TSC module to get into a state where provisioning data stored into memory is not stored on the flash drive.
Background
Infrequently, provisioning data stored in memory does not get updated to the TSC's flash drive.
When this occurs, unstored data can be irreversibly lost. Should a TSC card be reset, it will use the image stored in flash, and more recent provisioning changes will not be present.
Problem Symptoms
To determine if your system is functioning properly, perform the following steps:

Telnet to the 15600

Enter superuser id and password

From vxWorks prompt, enter >flmDb
-
Review the last change date and time stamp of the active database. The database should be current.The date and time should reflect the last provisioning occurrence or the last time a user logged in via CTC or TL1.
Workaround/Solution
If your database date and time stamp are incorrect, contact the TAC as outlined at the end of this document. Release R5.0.2 has corrected this issue. Upgrading to R5.0.2 is highly recommended.

How To Identify Hardware Levels
All levels of 15600-TSC hardware are affected. This issue is corrected in R5.0.2 software.
