Problem Description

This problem affects customers using Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) based public switched telephone network (PSTN) gateway solution. The system cannot make any calls after a call failure with certain MGCP error codes are received by the Cisco PGW.

Background

• PGW 9.5(2) System patch 19 and 20 may cause the problem.

• The issue is fixed in PGW 9.5(2) System Patch 21.

Problem Symptoms

Call processing may be impacted. Cannot make any calls after a call failure with certain MGCP error codes received by the Cisco PGW.

Workaround/Solution

• Do not load PGW 9.5(2) System patch 19 and 20.

• The issue is fixed in PGW 9.5(2) System Patch 21.

• If PGW 9.5(2) system patch 19 or 20 is installed, immediately install Patch 21.

• A switch over clears the issue.
