Problem Description
All of the GSR 8FE-FX-SC-B cards were shipped with an incorrect Common Language Equipment Identifier (CLEI) code label. The affected cards were shipped both within systems and as spares. The correct CLEI code number that should appear on the 8FE-FX-SC-B is CN3IEGZAAB. The incorrect one that was shipped is CN3IEGFAAA.
Background
Spares and systems shipped from Cisco between April 16, 2000, and December 24, 2001, were shipped with an incorrect CLEI code label.
Problem Symptoms
If a search for the incorrect CLEI code CN3IEGZAAB is done from the CLEI code database, the database returns a 800-04544-02 TAN which is not associated with a different Product Number. There are no hardware problems with this card. This is only a labeling issue.
Workaround/Solution
A label with the correct CLEI code has been produced. Cisco will ship the correct number of labels to correct each device on request.
The labels have been corrected in manufacturing and have been shipped with the correct label since December 25, 2001.
To receive replacement labels, please send an email to almui@cisco.com, with the quantity of labels you need, a shipping address for the new labels, and your contact information.
