Introduction
This document provides information on how to troubleshoot the Event Id 1000 error about the Windows Product Activation in the Cisco Unity Application Log.

Problem
The Windows Product Activation error with event ID 1000 is received in the event log of the Cisco Unity server. This results in the failure of the Cisco Unity server.
Solution
In order to resolve the issue, you need to restart the Kerberos Key Distribution Center service. Complete these steps:

From the Cisco Unity server, go to Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.

In the list of services, double-click Kerberos Key Distribution Center.
This pop-up window appears:

From the Startup type list, choose Automatic. Click Apply and then click Start.

Click OK.

Close the services MMC snap-in.

Restart the Unity server.
