Problem
After you configure the MeetingPlace network backup gateway, the gateway begins to back up the MeetingPlace database but fails with this error message:
Setting up temporary directory and files... Thu Oct 12 15:13:59 EDT 2006 Getting 'Ready' File... 'Ready' file has been received... Putting 'Server' file onto unit... .Gateway SIM Agent: invalid path .Gateway SIM Agent: invalid path Trying to retrieve 'ServerAck' file... Gateway SIM Agent: file stat error Attempt 3: File 'ServerAck' has not arrived... Trying to retrieve 'ServerAck' file... Gateway SIM Agent: file stat error Attempt 4: File 'ServerAck' has not arrived.
Solution
This issue of failed backup can happen when the path of the temporary folder in the Gateway System Integrity Manager (SIM) configuration is wrong or if the Gateway SIM transfer destination field was left blank, which leaves the Gateway SIM with no path/folder with which to place the backup files. The issue occurs mainly because the path of the temporary folder in the Gateway SIM tab points to <drive>:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Backup instead of <drive>:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Temp.
Perform these steps to resolve the issue:
-
Stop all MeetingPlace services.
-
Open the Gateway SIM Configuration page, and delete the unit.
-
Add the unit back again with the Transfer Destination set to the backup gateway temporary folder, for instance, E:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Temp.
-
Restart all MeetingPlace services.
