Q. How do I detect the storage link using the storage utility?A.
When experiencing difficulty finding the Storage Link on the Network, ensure that:
- No firewall and/or security software is running on the computer trying to access it
- Ensure that it is properly connected to the Ethernet port.??
To resolve difficulty finding the Storage Link in Network Neighborhood, perform the following:
- Using Windows' Find Function?
- Checking the Storage Link's IP Address and Gateway
Using Windows' Find Function
Click Start, then Search.
Choose Computers or People.
Choose a computer on the network.
When a field appears, enter the Storage Link's name.
Note: If you're using Windows 2000, click Files and Folders then select Search for a Computer. If this did not work, check if the TCP/IP protocol, Client for Microsoft Networks service, is installed.
Checking the Storage Link's IP Address and Gateway
If you are using a router, make sure your PC and the Storage Link are on the same network segment and the gateway set on the Storage Link is the router's IP Address.
