The Cisco ASR 1000 Series Route Processor (RP1) addresses the route-processing requirements of carrier-grade IP and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) packet infrastructures. Not only does it provide advanced routing capabilities, but it also monitors and manages the other components in the Cisco ASR 1000 Series.

• Provides a 40 GB hard disk drive for code storage, boot, configuration, logs, etc. A 32 GB solid state drive support is also available
• Offers memory scalability of up to 4 GB DRAM (2GB DRAM is default)
• Provides USB port for 1 GB compact flash memory support
