Cisco Secure Services Client Log Message Format

Every log entry has the format:

<date & time> [process] <log Message id> <log message class> <context IDs> <grammatical log message>

where:

<date & time> is the date and time in this format: mm/dd/yyy HH:mm:SS.sss

[process] is the internal process identifier and is for internal use only.

<log message id> is the unique number for the log entry.

<log message class> is the class type of log message; class is one of these values:

I—Informational. This value indicates a client state that is part of normal processing.
W—Warning. This value indicates a client state that is insecure or unexpected, but still allows processing.
E—Error. This value indicates an exception that prevents normal processing.

<context IDs> define the context of this log event and convey zero or more identifiers in this format: <code><unique string/number>. Where:

<code> is a two letter code that indicates the class of the term.
- AD—Adapter identifier. The adapter MAC address in hexadecimal.
- AC—Access identifier. The MAC basic service set identifier (BSSID) for the access device.
- MT—Media type. Either Ethernet or wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi).
- CN—Connection identifier. An integer that identifies the connection.
- PR—Profile identifier. The name of the profile truncated to 16 characters.
<unique string/number> is a string or number that is guaranteed unique.

<grammatical log message> is a sentence that describes the event. The log message may contain a value (<value>) that is a placeholder for a variable to be placed in the message.
