New Capabilities Increase Network Performance
Cisco IOS Software Release 15.1(2)T is the third in a series of individual 15M and T releases. Each new release offers features from its predecessors, including Releases 12.4T and 12.4 Mainline, and introduces new technology and hardware support. Release 15.1(2)T includes the following important capabilities:
- Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN over multipoint Generic Routing Encapsulation (mGRE) simplifies configuration across IP- only networks providing a solution shared by Enterprise and SP customers
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) dynamic neighbors lowers operational costs through automated network functionsStatic route support for Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD over IPv6 optimizes network performance and availability through fast failure detection capability
- Unified Communications feature enhancements for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express, Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST), and Cisco Unified Border Element
