Introduction

The channelized T1/ISDN Primary Rate Interface (PRI) modules are available with and without a built-in channel service unit (CSU) and with one or two ports. The channelized T1/ISDN PRI modules connect to an external CSU. The channelized T1/ISDN PRI CSU modules connect directly to the Telco network. Each of the T1 modules provides up to 24 virtual channels per T1 port.

Configuration

Each interface on the Cisco 2600/3600 series is configured as a slot/unit number. On the 1- or 2-Port ISDN PRI/Channelized T1 Network Module, the interfaces are addressed as controller <slot>/<unit>. Simultaneous ISDN PRI and BRI modules in the same chassis requires Cisco IOS Software Release 11.3(3)T.

Refer to Configuring Channelized E1 and Channelized T1 for configuration assistance.

Configure the interface as you would normally configure a Channelized T1/PRI interface on any other router.
