End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the
Cisco CSS 11000 Series Content Services Switch
Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-life of the Cisco® CSS 11000 Series Content Services Switch. The last day to order the Cisco CSS 11000 is December 1, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 1, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco CSS 11000 Series.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco CSS 11500 Series or Cisco Content Switching Module (CSM) for the Catalyst® 6500 Series Switch, which offer extended features, performance, and scalability. Information about these products is available at: www.cisco.com/go/css11500 and www.cisco.com/go/csm . Tables 3 and 4 provide relevant information for migrating from the Cisco CSS 11000 Series to the Cisco CSS 11500 Series or CSM.

The last possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.

The recommended replacement for the Cisco CSS 11000 Series is the Cisco CSS 11500 Series (Table 3 and Table 4) or Cisco CSM (Table 5).
